I am super excited to show everyone this shoot. And what has commonly and lovingly been referred to as the “pig shoot”….Why you ask? Well this one started with inspirations from the past…I was thinking about books I read as a girl. One of my favorites was “The Secret Garden” by Frances Hodgson Burnett. Of course, I was never satisfied with any of the “made for TV” movie remakes and wanted to imagine a wedding partially taken from my memories of the tale…but woven together with bits of other stories and smatterings of ideas. Ideas like we should have a pig in the shoot…(perhaps a little dash of Charlotte’s Web?) But the little pig that we planned on using grew to be a big pig and our cute little pig dreams were dashed. Don’t worry the pig and many other little garden creatures were represented, dreamy flowers, gorgeous silver silk shantung linens, and handmade paper flowers. But this story really came together with a face….the bright and shiny face of a girl I met through the local Farmer’s market. She sells handmade and painted necklaces hung on string. She looks like she was painted long ago. So I put this girl in my little story and was inspired to get a team together to make it happen….and it did….I am so proud of the results…Everyone who worked on this project did an amazing job of bringing this loveliness to life…
