About Me

For those of you that don’t know me yet…I will tell you a little about myself…

It all started when I was a little girl with what I like to call “putting things in their place”.  I would go over to my great grandmother’s house and move all the precious figurines she had collected for years into little “shelf stories”.  The amazing thing is that she let me handle them at all.   I was very young and they were very fragile… yet every time I went to visit, I would move them back to “their place”.  It was the beginning of my love for all things in design, styling, and ultimately planning and coordination.

When I was just 22, I returned to San Diego, fresh from a lengthy trip across Europe.  I opened and co- owned  Gargoyle Gallery and Cafe in Little Italy.  It was a well-loved Moroccan style Cafe and Store that hosted countless parties and events over it’s seven year tenure.  When an opportunity came along to make it into a full service restaurant, my partner and I  took it with the idea that it would give me more time to focus on life and free lance design.

After the Cafe closed I had more time for another love of mine…travel.  I traveled abroad and picked up  little gems to sell at local farmer’s markets. Meanwhile, I continued to expand my design business.

It was design that brought me into the wedding industry.  I did the original design for the home office of She Wanders Photography…which in turn introduced me to the office of Thomas Bui Lifestyle. While doing these jobs I had the good “fortune” to meet Shelly of Bella Sera Event Design who brought me onto her team.  Since I had literally been throwing major events  for most of my life  it seemed only natural to commit to the title of Event Designer/Planner/ Coordinator…whatever is the PC way of saying these days.

And it was working with Bella Sera that brought me to Jenlikes.  Instead of choosing one love I decided to embrace them all.  I continue to do free lance interior design for both residential and commercial spaces. My business expanded to included to travel and directly import women’s accessories. I had a blast going to and fro Bali shopping and bringing it back for all with weekly markets and the wildly successful POP SHOPS.

My career took another turn in the Summer of 2012 when I was offered a job as the “Wedding Coordinator” on the sands of the La Jolla Shores Hotel. It was a crazy summer working full time there and still completing all my weddings contracted for 2012…

And in yet another turn of events I was recently promoted to the Director of Catering for The La Jolla Beach and Tennis Club, The La Jolla Shores Hotel and The Marine Room … I am very excited to be at the helm and can’t wait to put my special touch on the weddings, and events and member socials to come….

…I really am passionate about what I consider to be a life full of fun and imagination and “putting everything in it’s place!”.   I enjoy every project that I take part in and do it to the best of my ability…because that is the only way I know how to…

I consider it a privilege make my client’s events more  beautiful and what they dreamed it could be….
